Picking up from last week, it seems Tina's anxiety garners more than her imagination, that the two convicts could be sneaking around the cabin. She has no qualms of rousing Hank from sleep to check it out. She's not too happy with the notion of dying in a cabin in a snowstorm, with a stranger, when she's within miles of the safety of her sister's condo.

So...off we go with another excerpt!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What–Move over? In case you hadn’t noticed, this is a short, narrow sofa."
"I heard something...."
Outside, a crunching sound from footsteps on the snow, definitely proved there was someone, or something, walking around the cabin.
Still fully dressed, Hank jumped up, grabbed the rifle, scrambled to the door, and pressed his ear against it, Tina hot on his heels.
"Tina...if you insist on becoming my second skin, how am I going to find out what’s out there?"
I hope you enjoyed this week's Six. Please leave a comment.
Until next week, I wish you love, butterflies and music.
A huge thank you to all my readers who bought A Smoky Mountain Christmas. I'm thrilled that so many of you contacted me and told me how much you enjoyed reading the book. I'm honored at your comments.
It's that time again.
Does the week fly by as quickly for you as it does me? I have no idea where the days go. I'm in the middle of finishing A Perfect Match (I may change the title) and it's coming along nicely. I'll post when it goes live on Amazon, Smashwords and Barnes & Noble.
I hope you have fun with this week's six sentences, I sure did.
So...off we go - back to Tina and Hank's journey together.
Last week, Tina had the daylights scared out of her. To appease Tina, Hank drug on his clothes and checked around in the cold, blustry winds for signs of a warm body. A body supposedly making noises outside. He's proven the body turned out to have made deer tracks! But...does Tina believe him? Of course not! Still ill at ease at being two inches from Hank, she has a request.
Tina made it halfway to the bedroom, then turned back toward the living room. "Hank?"
"Yes?"
"Would you mind coming in here to sleep?"
Hank grinned, flipped back the covers and shot straight up on the sofa. "Why, madam, we barely know one another."
Six-Sentences from A Smoky Mountain Christmas
This week there are two escaped convicts on the move in the Smokies. The radio announcer had bombarded its audience all day with the news. Tina's nerves are on edge wondering how safe they are. Her mind is working overtime. Tina has taken over Hank's bed, and Hank is sleeping on the sofa. She can't sleep and believes every strange sound comes from the prison escapees.
 "Hank," she whispered, and shook his shoulder. "Wake
up."
 Groggy from little sleep, he ran a hand through his hair and sat
up. "Lord, woman, don’t you ever sleep? What is it
now?"
"Move over," she whispered.
Tina is not happy. She's stuck in the mountains, in a snowstorm, with a man who insists there's no way he can get her back to her sisters in time for Christmas. Now, she has no choice except the offer of his home, with a stranger, or freeze.
I hope you enjoy this week's sentences.
Hadn’t she gotten herself in a jam?
"Pretty sure of yourself, aren’t you?"
"You’re too cute and tiny to face the cold alone," Hank said, while a smile crept over his face.
Cute was it?
No one had ever called her cute, attractive or gorgeous, but never cute.  Tina wanted to smack the incredible grin off his face.
We're back to A Smoky Mountain Christmas. Week before last we left Tina frustrated at being stuck in the mountains. She's a city gal and the closest she's come to an axe, is the wood from her own fireplace. She's about to learn just how dangerous an axe can be.
Please check back, one lucky winner will receive an ecopy of A Smoky Mountain Christmas.
There won't be a Six Sentence Sunday next week because of Christmas. Please check back January 1 st.
Have a wonderful holiday.
Here are this week's Six-Sentences. Enjoy.
She’d be darned if she let this man chip away at what staying power she had left. She jerked up the axe, brought it above her head and gave the log a good whack.
With a pop, the slashed log took flight off the stump and landed within a couple of inches of Hank’s leg.
"Oh, Lord," Tina whispered.
A tic worked his cheek, flickered the skin around his left eye. "Good grief,
woman, give me the darned axe -- you’re going to maim one or both of us for
life."
Switching up this week for a little peek inside my upcoming novel, Perfect Match.
Cali's home has been broken into for the second time. Trace has insisted she move in with him until it's safe for her to return home. He had no intention of becoming involved with another woman, but let down his guard once with Cali. Now he must treat her with the respect she deserves.
When he managed to get her safely settled, he'd
see to it Sarah took extra good care of her and be sure to distance himself from
the temptation of caring for her.
As much as Trace wanted to deny it, his attraction
toward Cali had grown, but he wouldn't go beyond the boundaries of friendship.
Because she'd asked and he'd given his word.
Except he wanted Cali around. He would protect her. Even if it
meant protection from himself.
Thanks so much for stopping by! Leave a comment if you like, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
This week we're following Tina's thoughts on Hank's allowing her to learn how to use an axe to chop wood. Though Tina had insited she do her part, she's having second thoughts.
Hank pulled earmuffs attached to his hat down around his ears, then gestured toward the axe and shot her a grin.
"Since you insist on chopping the wood yourself, I wouldn’t take too long if I were you. Frostbite’s
a nasty thing."
Tina bit off the temptation to tell Hank where he could stick his axe—and his opinion of her.
He stood there, a smug smile on his face, and watched her.
If Hank had thoughts of her becoming little Miss Country Bumpkin, it wasn’t going to happen-not by a long shot.
